Rokopera "Mauglis"

Honoring the memory of composer Mārtiņš Brauns on his 75th anniversary, in the autumn of 2026 the Latvian Youth Theatre offers audiences the composer's most ambitious rock opera for children and families "Mauglis". It can be enjoyed on October 18 at the culture center "Ulbrokas Pērle".

The rock opera "Mauglis" is the most ambitious musical production for children and youth created in recent years. It is a new production of the 1982 Youth Theatre show, which premiered in October 2021 and became the last event in which Mārtiņš Brauns participated before passing away.

In the roles: Igors Siliņš, Kārlis Tols, Rūdolfs Juris Trēziņš, Sanita Misika, Aija Dzērve, Juris Vizbulis, Edgars Lipors, Māris Skrodis, Jānis Skanis, Jēkabs Reinis, Juris Millers, Anatolijs Kreipāns, Elīna Bojarkina, Rihards Zelezņevs and Jānis Kirmuška. The folk dance ensemble "Dzintariņš" takes part in the performance.

The jury of the Latvian Events Forum Excellence Award recognized the rock opera "Mauglis" as the most outstanding cultural event of 2021, and the company "Biļešu paradīze" presented a special award to its creators for the most viewed cultural event in the online environment.

The performance is included in the program "Latvijas Skolas soma".
