Muzikāla izrāde "RĒZIJA"
Sunday, 27. September16:00· Kultūras centrs "Ulbrokas Pērle"
On September 27 at 16.00 at the cultural center "Ulbrokas Pērle", a new musical play "RĒZIJA" will have its premiere - a story based on true events about two friends, Rēzija and Ketrīna, whose lives were changed by the car accident of January 10, 2025.
Rēzija and Ketrīna are fourteen. They are best friends, brought together by music, being together, school everyday life, long conversations, and the brightness of adolescence. The play takes you through the world of both girls before the tragedy, allowing the viewer to meet them not as heroines of a news headline, but as living, vibrant people with dreams, characters, and joy.
On January 10, 2025, on the way to a singing competition in Daugavpils, a minibus carrying the youth ensemble and teachers of Ventspils Music Secondary School was involved in an accident. The event sparked widespread empathy in society, but behind the public story remained people whose lives could no longer continue as usual after that moment. The play "RĒZIJA" does not try to explain the inexplicable, but rather to approach the tragedy through the life that was before and is after it.
The libretto of the musical play was written by musician and writer Ilona Balode-Ūdre, while seven original songs specially created for the play feature lyrics by Ilona Balode-Ūdre and music by Marta Ritova, KATŌ, Evija Čerevko, and Valters Osis. The play will be sung and told by around 70 participants of the children's and youth vocal studio RASA.
The direction of the play is by the head of the vocal studio RASA, Līva Bondare, musical director – Valters Osis. "The friendship of Rēzija and Ketrīna was special - full of love. I wanted to convey this story to today's youth as inspiration at a time when humiliating others is more popular than respect and support," says the author of the idea, Līva Bondare.
"RĒZIJA" is an emotional, musical play in one part. It is created with respect for the true events and the people they affected, while leaving room for light, music, and friendship, which are the foundation of this story.
Ticket price – 18–22 euros. Tickets are available at "Biļešu paradīze" box offices, including online.
