Rakstnieces Andras Manfeldes darba prezentācija rezidencē “Piezīmes uz malām”

As part of the programme “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027”, the Kuldīga Municipality is implementing the project “Piezīmes uz malām”.

Throughout the month of August, artist residents stayed in five parishes of Kuldīga Municipality – Skrunda, Alsunga, Padure, Rudbārži and Nīkrāce. Over the course of the month, by getting to know and exploring the local environment, people and stories, the artists created new works of art that were made in close connection with each of the places.

On 26 September at 15.00, the presentation of the international creative authors' residency “Piezīmes uz malām” will take place at the Skrunda bus station. In Skrunda, there will be an opportunity to meet the writer Andra Manfelde.

During the residency, Andra has gathered the stories, history, myths and events of the local area's residents, interpreting them through her own perspective and words. The presentation will feature illustrations and notebooks.

Andra's creative signature combines literature and visual art. She not only writes but also illustrates her own books, creating stories in which text and image organically complement each other. In her creative work, Andra seeks a dialogue between place, person and story, allowing the environment to become a significant part of her works.

All project closing and work opening events will be free of charge and open to anyone interested.
