Mākslinieka Sasha Tishkov darba prezentācija rezidencē “Piezīmes uz malām”

As part of the programme "Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027", Kuldīga Municipality is implementing the project "Notes on the Margins".

Throughout the month of August, artist residents stayed in five parishes of Kuldīga Municipality – Skrunda, Alsunga, Padure, Rudbārži and Nīkrāce. Over the course of the month, getting to know and exploring the local environment, people and stories, the artists created new works of art that were made in close connection with each of the places.

On 26 September at 12.00, at the recreation centre in Dzeldа, works created by Estonian artist Sasha Tishkov will be unveiled.

At the conclusion of the residency, Aleksandrs will present a woodcarving work created inspired by the local nature, surroundings and the people he met.

Sasha Tishkov is a visual artist whose creative practice encompasses sculpture, woodworking and ceramics. In his works he explores the relationship between people, the environment and place, paying special attention to territories that often remain outside the spotlight.

Sasha currently lives and works in Estonia. His works are inspired by natural materials, oral traditions and places with a rich cultural and natural heritage, in which he sees space for imagination, memories and the creation of new stories.

This spring Blanca studied metal design at the Art Academy of Latvia within the Erasmus programme. While living in Latvia, she discovered a close connection with our culture, people and places, and it was precisely this experience that inspired her to apply for the residency "Notes on the Margins".

All project closing and work unveiling events will be free of charge and open to anyone interested.
