Mākslinieces Evas Strazdiņas darba prezentācija rezidencē “Piezīmes uz malām”

Within the framework of the programme “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027”, the Kuldīga Municipality is implementing the project “Piezīmes uz malām”.

Throughout the month of August, artist residents stayed in five parishes of Kuldīga Municipality – Skrunda, Alsunga, Padure, Rudbārži and Nīkrāce. Over the course of the month, by getting to know and studying the local environment, people and stories, the artists created new works of art that were made in close connection with each of the places.

On 25 September at 20.00, the works created by Eva Strazdiņa will be on view by the Padure Manor barn.

The focus of Eva's residency was Padure ceramics, the people associated with it across several generations, entrepreneurship and local history. The material gathered during the residency will be presented in a video work, a series of photographs and interviews.

Eva Strazdiņa is a photographer and visual artist whose creative and research interests encompass the image as an object of study and the visual archive in its various manifestations. In her works she seeks the boundary between documentary and imagination, experimenting with the materiality of photography and the traces left by time.

All events of the project's conclusion and the opening of the works will be free of charge and open to anyone interested.
