Miķeļa ražas tirgus Daugavas muzejā

On 26 September, the annual Miķeļa ražas tirgus will take place at Daugavas muzejs. From 10.00 to 16.00, artisans and home producers will gather in the museum's historical park area, preparing the tastiest country goods, autumn harvest gifts, treats and the most colourful handicrafts.

From 11.00 to 15.00, visitors to the festival will be entertained by a diverse programme and activities for the whole family. At 12.00, the folklore group "Graudi" will lead us in Miķeļdiena traditions and welcome autumn, together with whom we will explore beliefs and honour Jumis – the bringer of fertility and blessing. During the festival, everyone is invited to gather by the bonfire to prepare and enjoy together the traditional Miķeļdiena dumplings with cottage cheese.

Special attention this year is devoted to the world of mushrooms: together with Latvijas Mikologu biedrība, it will be possible to try one's hand at unusual workshops – making mushroom paper and drawing with mushroom ink. There will also be a mini mushroom exhibition (visitors are invited to bring their own forest finds as well), as well as the exhibition of naughty dainas "Sēnes un sēņošana apdziedāšanās un nerātnajās dziesmās".

The youngest visitors will be able to make crafts from natural materials, try their hand at ancient games and go on an orienteering adventure.
