Saruna “Par un ap Čaku”
Saturday, 19. September17:00· Ziemas dārzā, Puikules muiža
Aleksandrs Čaks knew how to play the game we call life. He knew how to create a great veil of mystery around himself, like in a good play, where the intrigue of the plot is maintained until the very last moment. And perhaps it is precisely this that even today, as we mark his 125th birthday, prevents all the dots from being placed on the i even by Čaks researchers.
Aleksandrs Čaks' stunning images, paradoxes and masks awaken our imagination. With their help we wipe clean the dusty glass of our everyday perception and again see a bright and clear world of fantasy. We become newly aware of the seriousness of life and learn to respect freedom and justice.
On 19 September at 17:00, admirers of the poet's talent are invited to gather in the Winter Garden of Puikule Manor, where the musical theatre actor, director and vocal pedagogue Dr.paed., prof. Edgars Kramiņš in the conversation "Par un ap Čaku" will tell about what he himself has experienced, felt, about coincidences and parallels with the events of Čaks' life:
about his first school impressions;
about the productions he created "Atzīšanās" (in Russian) in 1988 and "Zaļā zvaigzne" (in Latvian) in 1992;
about meeting Čaks' life companion Anita Bērziņa in the United States of America;
about the ability to see Riga through Čaks' eyes.
Of course, Čaks' poetry and songs with his words will also be heard.
We invite you to register for the event by 17 September by tel. 26321158
