Opera Masku balle

To the Governor of Boston, Count Richard Warwick, the fortune-teller Ulrica prophesies an incredible death – he will be killed by a friend. The prophecy becomes reality the moment the secretary Renato discovers the count's secret passion for his wife Amelia. A masked ball is an excellent cover for carrying out the offended Renato's plan for revenge. Personal motives of jealousy, mysterious presentiments, the mutual struggle between love and duty are revealed in Giuseppe Verdi's opera Un ballo in maschera, which was first performed in 1859 in Rome.

The production of the opera Un ballo in maschera directed by Marina Bianchi, with set design by Leila Fteita and costumes created by Lorena Marin, had its world premiere on January 12, 2019, at the Teatro Regio in Parma. The production uses historical decorations created by set designer Giuseppe Carminati for the 1913 production of Un ballo in maschera, which marked the centenary of Giuseppe Verdi.
