On September 19, throughout the day in Old Rīga, the "Vecrīgas festivāls. Atvasara" will take place, inviting Rīgans and city guests to visit a free event program for the whole family. During the day, visitors will have access to concerts, dance performances, creative and educational activities, food and artisan offerings, and other events. The event is implemented with the support of the Rīga municipality.
The festival will take place from 10.00 to 23.00, offering concerts, family-oriented activities, food, an artisan market, and other events throughout the day. From 10.00 to 15.00, the program will primarily be intended for families with children, while in the afternoon and evening, visitors will be awaited by concerts of Latvian musicians. The family morning program will be complemented by the children's ensemble "Dzeguzīte", "Bitīt' Matos" together with the folk dance collective "Dzīpars", the LE++ contemporary dance performance, and children's DJ Guca.
From 10.00 to 15.00, a wide program of entertainment and creative activities will be available for children. The fairies of "Sapņu Ballītes" will offer bubble shows, creative workshops, games, and glitter transformations. Inflatables, face painting, a toddler zone, and other activities will also be available in the festival area.
Families will have the opportunity to learn about the work of various services and meet their representatives in person. The State Emergency Medical Service, the State Fire and Rescue Service, the Rīga Municipal Police, the State Police with Runcis Rūdis, as well as representatives of other services, will participate in the festival. "Latvijas Valsts meži" will also participate in the festival with educational and practical activities, inviting children and families to learn more about nature and spend time actively.
The musical program will be taken care of by the group "Apvedceļš", singer Olga Rajecka, BŪŪ, ODS, and MUUD. At the end of the evening, "Bermudu Divstūris" will step onto the stage. Between concerts, DJs will take care of the musical accompaniment, ensuring a program throughout the day.
Throughout the day, food vendors and an artisan market will operate in the festival area, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy various foods and purchase products from local artisans and producers.
The festival's course will be complemented by the adjacently taking place Aldaru iela celebration, forming an even wider event program in Old Rīga. The festival is organized by Old Rīga bars "Cuba Cafe’", "B Bārs Restorāns’", "Ezītis Miglā’", and "Garāža".
The event is organized with the support of the Rīga Entrepreneurs Support Contact Point (RUAK) co-financing program intended for merchant associations for holding public events in the historical center of Rīga and its protection zone.
