Modes skate “Pāršuj nākotni” vecajā peldbaseinā Valmierā

On October 15 at 15:00, the final fashion show of the project “Pāršuj nākotni: sāc ar savu kreklu” will take place in the old swimming pool of Valmieras Pārgaujas Valsts ģimnāzija.

At the fashion show, T-shirts will take to the runway, to which the participants of the competition “Pāršuj nākotni: sāc ar savu kreklu” have given a second life. They were created in textile upcycling workshops that took place throughout September at the Nature and Technology Park “Urda” in collaboration with designers of the creative sustainable fashion platform “Bourzma”. In the workshops, young people transformed already worn T-shirts, giving them a new look and value, as well as practically getting acquainted with various clothing transformation techniques and opportunities to extend the life of textiles.

“Bourzma” designers and models will also participate in the fashion show, and this will be the first show of the sustainability platform “Bourzma” outside Riga. The special guest of the event will be musician Esmeralda.

Visitors are welcome from 14:30, when there will be an opportunity to participate in a T-shirt thermal printing workshop. We invite you to bring your own T-shirt! There will also be refreshments from Limpo.

Textile consumption in Europe continues to create a significant burden on the environment. One European Union resident consumes an average of about 19 kilograms of textile products per year, but around 12 kilograms of clothing per resident ends up as waste every year. Therefore, it is increasingly important not only to sort textiles correctly, but also to extend the life of clothing – repair, transform and find a new use for it before buying something new. Entrance to the event is free.

The fashion show takes place within the framework of the project “Otrā elpa tekstilam: jauniešu modes un vides apziņas skola” (No. LVAF/50/2025). Project implementer – association “Daibes ilgtspējas centrs” in collaboration with the creative sustainable fashion platform “Bourzma”. Inspirers – SIA “ZAAO” and AS “AJ Power Recycling”.
