“ŠIKS. ŠARMS. FRANCIJA” is not just a concert – it is an adventure where music and stories take listeners to the hustle and bustle of French cafes, the boulevards of Paris and romantic meetings, allowing them to feel the unmistakable charm of France for a moment.

French music of various eras and genres is played in the program — from fine classical music and danceable balfolk to well-known chansons and modern melodies. Listeners will hear both instrumental and vocal-instrumental pieces arranged for voice, accordion and guitar.

Alongside the pearls of French classics – „Les Champs-Élysées” and „La Vie en rose”, the program also features the energetic hit „Je veux” by contemporary singer Zaz and once widely loved songs “Voyage, voyage” and “Joe le taxi” and instrumental pieces „Made in france” and „Django’s Tiger”.

The concert program is woven into a single story by specially created prose texts, which become a bridge between the pieces, allowing the concert to be experienced as a single, living journey, where music and stories organically complement each other.

Mediante creates a unique sound through the interplay of voice and accordion. The ensemble is characterized by a synthesis of academic and popular music, where a fine, minimalist sound alternates with a wide, almost orchestral soundscape. Their musical handwriting intertwines the delicacy of chamber music, the clarity of popular music and an expressive, emotionally rich sound. This time the sound is complemented by guitarist Jānis Rolmanis, whose experience in pop music and alternative rock gives new energy, rhythmic dynamics and color.
