Mājas kafejnīcu dienas 2026 Ogres novadā

Inviting you to celebrate the beginning of the autumn season, on September 12 and 13, the Ogre municipality will host the most anticipated taste and hospitality festival – Home Cafe Days for the sixth time.

During these days, the skilled and creative hosts of the Ogre municipality will widely open their homesteads, gardens, home yards, and creative spaces in cozy Home Cafes. This year, 25 Home Cafes will welcome guests in the municipality, and each of them will have prepared a special autumn taste offering. The hosts will serve family recipes and traditional Latvian cuisine, as well as modern taste experiments inspired by the cuisines of other countries.

Visitors will be delighted by a wide variety of taste variations – soups cooked over an open wood fire and hearty stews, pilaf, juicy meat dishes and shashlik, aromatic cream soups, pancakes, crispy bubble waffles, pizzas, burgers, as well as vegetarian delicacies and desserts that will remind you of the taste of childhood. Selected Home Cafes have also specially thought of the youngest gourmets, preparing special children's menus for them.

Home Cafe Days are not just about food – it is a great weekend adventure for the whole family. During your visit to the hosts, you will have the opportunity to:

Participate in activities: feed deer, go on a SUP trip, visit an amusement park;

Be creatively active: participate in masterclasses, creative workshops, view works of art and ceramics;

Taste and buy: taste local drinks, as well as buy fresh country goods, handicrafts;

Enjoy the atmosphere: listen to live music, get to know the farm, and enjoy heartfelt conversations near nature.

This year, the improvised Home Cafes will be open to visitors in various locations of the municipality: Tīnūži, Ogresgals, Tome, Taurupe, Madliena, Meņģele, Ķeipene, as well as in the cities of Ikšķile and Ogre.

Home Cafe Days 2026 take place all over Latvia – from July to September. The initiative is organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and the Latvian Rural Tourism Association “Lauku ceļotājs” in cooperation with regional coordinators and municipal governments across Latvia with the aim of popularizing the tourism offerings of Latvia's regions. In the Ogre municipality, the regional coordinator of the campaign is the Culture and Tourism Department.
