Latvijas Orientēšanās nakts Ikšķilē un Lielvārdē

On September 18, a special anniversary year of the Latvian Orienteering Night is expected in Ogres novads – for the first time, the competition will take place simultaneously in two cities in one municipality: Ikšķile and Lielvārde. Moreover, Lielvārde will host Orienteering Night participants for the first time this year.

In Ikšķile, the competition center will be located at the Ikšķile Secondary School, Skolas Street 2, while in Lielvārde – at Lāčplēsis Square. Participants can choose the most convenient of the two locations in Ogres novads.

The competition will take place in a three-hour rogaining format. Teams of 2–5 people will receive a map with control points and will plan their route themselves to collect as many points as possible in the allotted time. Orienteering Night is suitable for both experienced orienteers and beginners, families with children, groups of friends and colleagues. Participants will be able to compete in OPEN, women's, family and veteran groups.

Competition program on September 18:

from 18.30 – receipt of participant numbers;

from 19.00 – receipt of maps;

at 20.00 – joint start;

at 23.00 – finish;

at around 23.15 – awarding.

Checking in at control points will take place using the QREvented app by reading QR codes, so each team needs a charged mobile phone with the ability to install the app. Since the competition will take place in the dark hours of the day, participants must also take care of reflectors and flashlights.
