Izstādes Ogres novadā SEPTEMBRĪ

The exhibition seeks the boundary between the personal and the public. Paintings become a place where silence and information overload collide, revealing how conditional and changeable our understanding of private space is today. The body of work forms a reflection on social structures, our mechanisms of adaptation, collective and individual tension, creating a peculiar documentation of the era.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from July 3 to September 27. On the opening day of the exhibition on July 3 - admission is free.

The exhibition "MĀKSLA KUSTĪBĀ – VASARA OGRĒ" brings together works created during the museum's summer creative workshop cycle.

The exhibition is the conclusion of a seven-art-workshop program that brought together children and youth from July 8 to August 19, inviting them to explore various art forms and creative expression under the guidance of professional artists. During the summer, participants tried out batik, creative writing, performance, sculpture, oil painting, acrylic painting, and abstract art techniques, while also getting acquainted with the daily life, working process, and profession specifics of artists.

The works exhibited reflect not only the mastered techniques, but also each participant's individual perspective, courage to experiment, and creative growth. It is an opportunity to see how original interpretations and personal stories, created under the guidance of artists from various fields, have transformed into visual works.

The workshops were led by fashion designer Liena Subatiņa-Brazeviča, writer Laura Ikauniece, performance artist Māra Gaņģe, sculptor Oto Holgers Ozoliņš, painter Dārta Madara Cielava, monumental painting artist Ilze Krastiņa, and visual communication artist Auce Biele.

The exhibition has developed gradually throughout the summer - along with each creative workshop, it has been supplemented with new works, reflecting the creative process of the participants and the development of the program. The opening during the Ogre City Festival will symbolically mark the culmination of this joint creative journey.

In August, the association invited "viedumieši" to two painting sessions to share the joy of colors together and create, bringing joy to themselves and others. For two days, the Viedumietes surrendered to the magic of colors, creativity, and new discoveries. It was not easy - the demanding instructor did not let up, encouraged trying, searching, and not being afraid of colors.

The exhibition was created within the framework of project No. RADI-2026-2, which received funding from the Ogre municipality project contest “R.A.D.I. – Ogres novadam”.
