Liepājas teātra viesizrāde “Rītausma Vakaros”

A life-weary investigator reluctantly takes on the most difficult case of his career and is assigned to investigate a murder in a small village – Vakari. Some time ago, under mysterious circumstances during an eclipse, a poet burned to death here.

In this existentially absurd detective story, the investigator will not only try to find the killer, but will also address the question of how it is possible to regain lost joy of life, motivation, and a sense of purpose.

The performance is nominated for the 2024/2025 season “Spēlmaņu nakts” award in 3 categories: “Large-scale Performance of the Year”, “New Musical Work or Musical Design of the Year” (Edgars Mākens), and “New Drama Work or Performance Scenario, Theatre Text of the Year” (Klāvs Mellis, Matīss Budovskis).
