Latvijas Orientēšanās nakts Jaunmārupē

On September 18, Jaunmārupe will host the tenth Latvijas Orientēšanās nakts - a free three-hour rogaining competition for teams. Jaunmārupe will be one of 22 locations in Latvia where this year's anniversary event will take place, and the competition center will be located at the Mārupe Music and Art School.

Over ten years, Latvijas Orientēšanās nakts has become one of the most widespread autumn mass sports events in Latvia. Last year, the competition in 21 cities gathered a record number of participants - 6107 people in 1982 teams.

The competition will take place in a three-hour rogaining format. Teams of 2 to 5 people will receive a map with control points and will plan their route themselves to collect as many points as possible within the specified time. Both experienced orienteers and beginners, families with children, teams of friends and colleagues are invited to participate. The start is scheduled in OPEN, women's, family and veteran groups.

Competition schedule:

from 18.30 - receipt of participant numbers;

from 19.00 - receipt of maps;

20.00 - mass start;

23.00 - finish;

around 23.15 - awarding.

Checking in at control points will take place using the QREvented app by scanning QR codes, therefore each team needs a charged mobile phone. Since the competition will take place in the dark hours of the day, participants must also bring a flashlight and take care of reflective elements.

Participation is free of charge.
