Ķekavas novada skolu stafešu skrējiens 2026

On September 18 from 9.00 to 14.00 at the Fortius sports field in Ķekava, the “Ķekava District School Relay Run 2026” will take place for the fourth year, inviting students to represent their schools and classes in exciting relay competitions.

The event has become a welcomed autumn tradition that annually gathers students from all over Ķekava district – Ķekava, Baloži, Baldone, Pļavniekkalns, and Daugmale. Last year, 227 teams started in the competition, confirming the students' great interest and desire to spend active time together.

The aim of the run is to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among children and youth, popularize running as a sport accessible to everyone, and determine the fastest teams in various class groups.

Teams from all Ķekava district schools in grades 1–12 are invited to participate in the competition. Each team has four members – two boys and two girls, and one class may register several teams. The length of the relay leg depends on the class group – the youngest participants must complete a 300-meter lap, while the older class groups – a 500-meter lap.

Participation in the competition is free of charge. Teams must be registered by September 14 at 12.00 on the website sports.kekava.lv/stafete, where the regulations are also available.

The competition is organized by the Ķekava District Sports Center. The event is supported by “Ķekava Foods”, “Balticovo”, “Gutta”, “Isostar”, and “Spilva”.

During the event, a cafe will operate and drinking water will be available to participants. We invite you to bring your own water bottle.
