➤ Painter Inga Onževa (1976) works daily with the young generation of artists at the Latgales Mūzikas un mākslas vidusskola and the Art Academy of Latvia Latgale Branch, teaching both composition and painting classes.

➤ The exhibition “Krāsa. Telpa. Elpa.”, offered by the artist to the audience after a longer creative pause, brings together recently created works as well as retrospective graphics and painting. In I. Onževa's painting, features of the abstract expressionist style can be seen, where the author's expressive language is fronted by color, followed by stroke expression. Experimenting with technical techniques, the artist transforms landscape and still life motifs into a multi-layered visual story. I. Onževa's stories are created “here and now”, where the painter's impulsive gesture forms abstract structures, finding a balance between emotions and thought-out compositions. The body of work marks the artist's creative path, where color consistently maintains a central role, becoming the main storyteller and bearer of experience. One could say that for I. Onževa, color is like a way of thinking, abstract space – like a feeling, and the “breath” of ideas – as the basis of the creative rhythm.
