Es esmu ceļš I Laiks. Tu. Lūgšana

To usher in the month of state holidays, Courland audiences will also have the opportunity to experience the newest program “Es esmu ceļš” of the sacred music cycle “Laiks. Tu. Lūgšana”.

The concert performance will feature

Aleksandra Špicberga and the Men's Vocal Group,

violinist Aleksejs Koļesņikovs,

percussionist Ernests Mediņš,

guitarist Vladimirs Kudrins, and the vocal group “Puikas”.

Lighting design – Ivars Vācers.

The core of the cycle “Laiks. Tu. Lūgšana” program consists of little-known spiritual chants from various traditions from all over the world in Latvia. Alongside universal spiritual themes, the program also touches upon a person's relationship with their land, belonging, and homeland.

In the new program “Es esmu ceļš”, the authors continue what they started, looking for original solutions for the synthesis of sacred and contemporary music. The program includes church chants from various centuries, folk music, classical and contemporary music, including music from films, cantatas, and opera.

We will hear chants in English, German, Latin, Greek, Georgian, Romani, Church Slavonic, and Latvian, as well as examples of contemporary instrumental music, including the opus for violin Hommage à J. S. B. by Ukrainian composer V. Sylvestrov.

Duration of the concert performance: 1 hour 20 minutes.
