Slovākijas pianistes Evas Varhaníkovás un dziedātāja Mariana Varhaníka koncerts

The city of Kuldīga will host European-level artists – Slovak pianist and university professor Eva Varhaníková and singer and composer Marian Varhaník. On September 23 at 19.00 at the concert hall DUNA in Kuldīga, Kaļķu iela 16, a piano music concert will take place featuring internationally acclaimed Slovak pianist Eva Varhaníkova and Slovak singer and composer Marian Varhaník. Admission to the concert is free of charge.

The concert program will feature works by Franz Liszt, Ján Cikker, Jāzep Vītols, Peter Špilák, Gejza Dusík, Astor Piazzolla, Aram Khachaturian, and Johannes Brahms.

Eva Varhaníkova is a laureate of several national and international piano competitions. She graduated from the ⱞilina Conservatory and continued her studies at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where she earned her doctoral degree in 2009. The pianist has performed widely across Europe, collaborated with symphony orchestras and various chamber musicians. A special significance in her creative work is the popularization of Slovak composer music – she has performed numerous premieres, made recordings for Slovak Radio, and released a compact disc with music by Slovak composers. Eva Varhaníkova is also a member of the chamber music ensemble "Invention Quartet" and in 2020 founded the chamber ensemble "Slovak Nuevo Quintet".

Marian Varhaník is a versatile musician, singer, composer, and music event organizer whose work is associated with classical music and jazz. He debuted on the music scene in the late 1980s.

At the Kuldīga concert, the collaboration of both artists will offer listeners a diverse program combining piano music and vocal performance, classical music traditions, and the musical language of various eras. The concert is supported by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Latvia and the Kuldīga Municipality.
