Bezmaksas seminārs “Cieņas kods”

What to do when a situation arises at the workplace in which it is not clear – is it just an awkward comment, a stereotype, or already offensive behavior? How can our own prejudices influence decisions about colleagues and employees? And what can a colleague, a manager, and the organization do in such situations?

The foundation “Ventspils High Technology Park” invites managers and employees of companies, associations, and foundations to apply for the free online training seminar “Code of Respect”, which will take place on September 15 from 9.00 to 13.00 on the Zoom platform. Apply for the seminar here.

In the seminar, participants will not only get acquainted with the principles of equal opportunities and diversity management, but will also practically analyze situations that can arise in any work team. In the seminar we will talk about:

freedom of speech, hate speech, and respectful communication in the work environment;

stereotypes and prejudices that can influence our daily decisions;

difficult situations in a team related to age, gender, disability, or origin;

opportunities to act in situations where there are risks of discrimination or unequal treatment in the work environment;

accessibility in the work environment and obstacles that we do not always notice in everyday life;

practical steps that can be implemented in one's own organization after the seminar.

The seminar will be led by Rasma Pīpiķe, an expert in systemic diversity management, while Māris Ceirulis – an environmental accessibility expert and chairman of the board of the Liepāja Society of the Blind – will share a experience story about accessibility in the work environment.

After the seminar, participants will receive a certificate from the non-formal education institution “Nākotnes klase” for participation in the training, as well as methodological materials and practical tools for further work in their organization. Managers and employees employed under an employment contract can be registered for the training. The seminar is intended for associations and foundations, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, social enterprises, cooperative societies, and capital companies.

Organizations are invited to take the opportunity to register several colleagues as well, so that the insights and practical solutions gained in the seminar would then be easier to discuss together and implement in their work environment. Apply for the seminar here.
