Baltu vienības dienas koncerts

On September 20 at 19.00 in the Great Hall of the concert hall "Lielais dzintars", we invite you to a special Baltic Unity Day concert organized by the Liepāja Music, Art, and Design Secondary School in cooperation with the Lithuanian Choral Union. Baltic Unity Day annually reminds us of the close kinship, common cultural heritage, and historical ties between Latvians and Lithuanians. It is celebrated on September 22, commemorating also the 1236 Battle of the Sun, in which Samogitians and Semigallians jointly defeated the Livonian Brothers of the Sword. This time we will tell the story of unity through music. Latvian and Lithuanian musicians will meet on the stage of "Lielais dzintars": the LMMDV Symphony Orchestra, conductor Reinis Lapa, soloists Simona Liamo (soprano) and Nora Petročenko (mezzo-soprano), accompanist Lūkass Gedvils, Vilnius University mixed choir “Gaudeamus”, Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas mixed choir “Ave vita”, Mixed choir “Musica”, Klaipėda University mixed choir “Pajūrio aidos”, RTU Liepāja Academy women's choir “Atbalss”, Liepāja Folk Art and Culture Center mixed choir “INTIS”. In the concert program – Antonio Vivaldi's “Gloria”, as well as music by Latvian and Lithuanian composers. September 20 at 19.00 Concert hall “Lielais dzintars”, Great Hall, Radio iela 8, Liepāja.
