Balets "Sapnis vasaras naktī"

The ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream, inspired by William Shakespeare's comedy, was created in 1977 for the Hamburg Ballet by the legendary American-born German choreographer John Neumeier in collaboration with exquisite set and costume designer Jürgen Rose. In the production, humor is combined with dreamy poetry, creating a strong psychological saturation that has secured this work a place in the repertoire of the world's leading ballet troupes.

The ballet's musical dramaturgy allows one to immerse oneself in three stylistically distinct worlds: Felix Mendelssohn's works characterize the aristocratic court of the ruler of Athens, György Ligeti's music leads into the mystical realm of elves and fairies, while the aesthetics of barrel organ playing adorns the craftsmen's environment.
