Velo un kājāmgājēju cikls “Ziemeļu stiga” 1. posms
Sunday, 13. September· all day
After a break, the cycling and walking cycle “Ziemeļu stiga” returns, this year completing the 335-kilometer-long journey across Valmieras novads. From Mazsalaca to Valmiera, in four stages, the remaining 99 kilometers will have to be covered, along the way also getting to know the farms of “Ziemeļzemes kods”, their people, flavors and stories.
The first stage on September 13 will lead from Mazsalaca to Burtnieki and will be done by bicycle over 45 km.
The second stage on September 27 will lead from Burtnieki to Bērzaine and will be done on foot over 18 km.
The third stage on October 3 from Bērzaine to Zilokalns will be done on foot over 18 km.
The final stage on October 25 from Zilākalns to Valmiera will be done on foot over 18 km.
All routes will be linear. It is planned that at the beginning of each stage, participants with their vehicles will go to the end point of the respective stage, then together with an organized bus will return to the starting point of the route. Thus, after walking or riding the entire stage, each participant's vehicle will be waiting for them at the end point of the stage and getting home will not cause unnecessary worries. More information about each stage will follow on the website visit.valmiera.lv.
Are you ready to experience, feel and taste? Registration for all stages is already open, but the nearest of them is already on September 13, when we will measure the road by bicycle. It will be an easy-difficulty bicycle ride and will lead both along paths and larger roads, as well as sometimes on asphalt. In order for the bicycle ride to be filled with positive adventure, we invite you to assess your physical fitness beforehand. A bicycle ride cannot do without stops and stories – they will be taken care of by hike leader, nature walk and boat trip enthusiast Toms Treimanis. Along the way we will meet the local “Ziemeļzemes kods” hostess Indra from the “Cietais rieksts” production facility, we will see Vecate and Matīši villages, Burtnieks lake, and, of course, at the end there will be no shortage of tasty soup. Participants are invited to arrive with their vehicles at the starting point in Mazsalaca. Each participant who has registered will receive the technical description of the hike so that they can prepare for it and be informed about the procedure of the event.
The number of participants in the bicycle ride is limited, so we invite you to apply for your participation in advance by calling 26332213, writing to the e-mail tic@valmierasnovads.lv or coming in person
Valmieras Tūrisma informācijas centrs (Bruņinieku iela 1, Valmiera). The participation fee for the hike is 10 EUR. We inform you that during the events photography and filming may take place. Photos and video may be used to reflect the course of the hike and bicycle cycle and to popularize Valmieras novads.
See you at “Ziemeļu stiga!”
