Pedagogu konference “Tu. Klase. Mākslīgais intelekts”
Wednesday, 21. October09:45· Valmiera, Valmiera
Artificial intelligence (AI) in school is no longer a theoretical question of the future. Students use it to complete assignments, educators use it to prepare materials and lesson plans, while school leaders must decide where and how to use these tools meaningfully. At the same time, another question is becoming increasingly relevant – how to use technology so that it helps the teacher and the student, rather than creating yet another duty and additional noise?
The educators' conference "Tu. Klase. Mākslīgais intelekts", which will take place on 21 October from 9.45 to 15.30 in Valmiera (part 1 at Cēsu iela 4, part 2 at Zvaigžņu iela 4), will this year gather around 200 educators to seek answers to these questions together.
The central plenary session of the day, "Latvijas izglītība MI laikmetā: jārīkojas tagad", will focus on the changes that AI is already creating in teaching and the learning process. The panel discussion has already become an annual tradition at the conference, allowing the year's theme to be viewed from different perspectives. This year it will feature AI education ambassador Māra Ozola, researchers Evija Mirķe and Atis Kapenieks, as well as entrepreneur Gints Kukainis. The conference will be moderated by Jānis Krēvics, with special guest Kristīne Spure.
As usual, in the second part of the educators' conference, participants will strengthen practical skills. In 13 workshops, it is planned to train the development of a quality lesson plan with the help of AI, learn techniques for increasing learning motivation using AI, look at one's own well-being as an educator by incorporating digital tools and including AI in one's daily work, and address other important issues in the context of the digitalization of education and especially the inclusion of AI in education. To make the content of the workshops more valuable for everyone and easier to adapt to one's daily life, we invite participants to come with their own smart device (phone, tablet, or laptop).
The broader event program, workshop offerings, and registration for participation from 9 September are available at https://va.lv/pedagogu-konference. For attending the full event program, participants will receive a certificate of participation in the conference.
