Opera "Zemnieka gods. Pajaci"

In Pietro Mascagni's opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" and Ruggero Leoncavallo's opera "Pagliacci", veristic passions flare up with irresistible force. Even those developments of life that do not possess special beauty have found a musically magnificent attire here.

During the opera "Cavalleria Rusticana", the audience will have the opportunity to observe the life of a Sicilian village, in whose idyll the themes of betrayal and jealousy resound. The heart of the young peasant Santuca has been hurt by her fiancé Turiddu, who has ignited in passion for the rich Alfio's beautiful wife Lola. The desperate Santuca tells Alfio himself about this infidelity – and his revenge thus becomes inevitable.

Meanwhile, in the opera "Pagliacci", love and betrayal permeate both the performances given by wandering comedians and their private lives. The tension reaches its climax when the troupe leader Canio learns about his wife Nedda's affairs. Canio's heartache is too great to be expressed only in a role, therefore during the regular performance the entertaining events that the audience watches on stage unexpectedly turn into a bloody drama of life.
