Info:

"My Path" – an exhibition of artworks by Vija Kurpniece

"It is a privilege to capture one's path in colors, ink, with graphite or charcoal.

In artworks that over time acquire ever new value," the author admits.

Vija Kurpniece graduated from the Jelgava Children's Art School, receiving a diploma in visual art, continued art studies, learning photography, painting in the studio "Vermilions," and participating in plein airs. Vija's creative spirit has continuously sought and found expressions in every place where Vija has been active – working in public administration, at the Auce City Culture House, working with young people, developing the intellectual audio guide "Secrets of Vecauce Manor," organizing the festival "Kājām gaisā," working at the Latvian Fund for Nature, or currently – at the Saldus Tourism Information, Culture and Sports Center.

The exhibition features both carefully crafted graphics, drawings and paintings, as well as almost volcanic explosions of bright colors, with the author fully surrendering to the flow and consistency of color. The exhibition is like a summary and a new starting point for the author's authentic path. It is just like the dynamic, sparkling and idea-rich Vija herself, whose element is the wind, which interacts with calm serenity, surrendering to sparkling laughter and creative flow. For Vija, art is a deep unity with herself. It is rest and laughter that dances on paper or canvas.

Since the opening of the exhibition, it has already been in Rucava, Lielauce, Kalsnava, Ukri, Bēne, Gulbene, Stāmeriena, Saldus, Jaunlutriņi, Dienvidkurzeme, etc.

The exhibition will be on view in the exhibition room of the Auce City Library from September 3 to October 31.

Everyone is warmly invited!
