Mākslinieces Birutas Stafeckas izstāde “Vasaras noskaņas jeb Čaks laukos”
28. May – 13. Sep11:00· Aleksandra Čaka muzejs
Lāčplēša iela 48-8, LV-1011
The exhibition of artist Biruta Stafecka “Summer Moods or Čaks in the Countryside” can be viewed at the Aleksandra Čaka muzejs from May 28 to September 13, 2026.
Poet Aleksandrs Čaks was a city boy who sang of boulevard lindens and the lonely fuchsia on the narrow windowsill of his apartment, but in summers, like many residents of Rīga, he went to the countryside to relatives. Scents, colors, and light in summer moods engage in wild plays. The city dweller's eyes, ears, and all senses rush along with this wonderful vortex and sink into a completely different, mysterious world. The works of artist Biruta Stafecka approach those lyrical feelings that Čaks wove into his poetry. Just like the poet, the artist also finds it fascinating to experience the moods of life, which are best revealed in contrasts.
B. Stafecka has been participating in exhibitions in Latvia and abroad since 1988. At the beginning of her career, she turned to textile art, but later chose painting in oil and acrylic techniques as the expression of her creative activity.
Alongside her creative activity, B. Stafecka works as a drawing teacher at the Textile Art Department of the Rīgas Mākslas un mediju tehnikums.
