➤ The last night of the philosopher Socrates before his death – a time when, waiting for morning and execution, he encounters eternal questions about freedom of choice. While Socrates prepares to accept his fate, his wife secretly organizes an escape, and the prison guard who agrees to help fulfills his unfulfilled dream.

This is an emotionally saturated story about human conscience, duties and the price of freedom. The conversations of the play's characters raise reflections on the frightening causes of fear, hatred and wars that are so relevant today, as well as the transformations of human personality under the influence of power and circumstances. To emphasize the relevance of the play's events according to events in the world today, the visual image of the performance was also deliberately made conditional, without being influenced by eras.

➤ The Student Theatre of the University of Latvia was founded in 1946. Since 1993, its artistic director has been Visvaldis Klintsons, who has staged performances of various genres. The theater's performances are played on various Latvian and foreign stages. The theater regularly participates in amateur theater reviews, local and international festivals and events, and over the years has received many awards.

The goal of the theater is to provide participants with the opportunity for creative self-expression. University of Latvia students, graduates and employees jointly improve themselves and look for new forms of expression.
