Komēdija “Tētis pēc 20 gadiem”

On October 23 at 19.00 in Dikļi Culture Center, the comedy “Tētis pēc 20 gadiem” starring Ainārs Ančevskis will be shown.

Perhaps the audience of “Pannas teātris” still remembers the comedy performed many years ago – the humorous study on the nature of men titled “Tētis”. At that time, the young and promising actor Ainārs Ančevskis told in a witty and heartfelt way about the nature, philosophy, relationships, and feelings of a man during the stage of life when he is preparing to become and becoming a father. 20 years have passed. During these years, the young parents have tried various upbringing methods. From Montessori and Waldorf pedagogy to programs approved by the Ministry of Education, and hardly any parent has been at peace with the antics and actions of a teenager.

“You bring him screaming home from the hospital and realize that the shit on your hands smells neither of beer nor of a pond, and even less of garlic croutons. And that this screaming opera singer will not be your fishing buddy for at least another 16 years. But just as he stops shitting his pants, he suddenly turns fourteen and puts a sign on his room door: “STOP! No adults allowed in this room!”

Actor Ainārs Ančevskis has grown up with the hero of the performance and can now live through the whole wide spectrum of raising a son – a twenty-something in the new play – the comedy “Tētis pēc 20 gadiem”.

Child-rearing is undeniably the hardest and most sacrificial thing a man can do in his life. Yet it is one of those important parts of life that must be experienced firsthand and that he would not trade for anything in the world.

The production is created by director Juris Rijnieks, actor Ainārs Ančevskis, and the creative collective of the performance association “Pannas teātris”.
