Izstāde “Pilnības rags”

26. Sep – 3. Jan· Mākslas muzejs Rīgas Birža, Rīga

Doma laukums 6

The exhibition examines the concept of the horn of plenty, based on the versatility, research, and interpretation of the art museum's collections, marking the museum's openness to change and reaction to the socio-political situation. The exposition is based on works of art that have either not been available to visitors for decades or never before.

The exposition consists of two parallel lines: the symbolism of the horn of plenty in various cultures and religions (ancient world, Christianity in Europe, Asian art) and the questioning of the museum as an institution. Painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative applied art and numismatics are the media through which the story of the exhibition is developed and questions are raised that may not yet have clear answers in such a changing era.
