Izrāde Veronika, zilais putns | Ģirts Krūmiņš, Laila Maria Saliņa

On Sunday, October 25 at 16.00 in the cultural space AKUSTIKA, a collage-performance about the painter and writer Veronika Janelsiņa (1910-2001), her life in California after the passing of her spouse, writer Anšlavs Eglītis.

Created as a collage of memories, interviews, letters, and documentary evidence, the performance reveals Veronika's world at a time when paintings, manuscripts, and a longing for Latvia remain by her side. Living in the California sunshine, she continues a conversation with the past, with art, and with the people who shaped her life story. A special place in this story is held by the artist Kazimirs Laurs. A friend and guardian angel who enters Veronika's life as a force of quiet presence, helping to maintain a connection with the world and with herself. It is a performance about memory, loneliness, loyalty, and hope. About a woman who, between the skies of California and the light of Latvia, searched her whole life for her blue bird.
