Agnese Egliņa un Danils Bulajevs | Pastaiga pa Vīni

Saturday, 17. October18:00· Valmiera, Valmiera

On Saturday, October 17 at 18.00 in the cultural space AKUSTIKA we invite you to a special musical encounter.

Violinist Daniils Bulajevs and pianist Agnese Egliņa will take everyone on a walk through Vienna.

Daniils Bulajevs and Agnese Egliņa first met in music in 2021, when they played together at the Grand Music Award ceremony. The violinist was nominated in the category "Young Artist of the Year", while the pianist received the award in the category "For Outstanding Performance Throughout the Year". The understanding between the two temperamental and adventurous musicians was so natural and mutually inspiring that they continue to make music together to this day.

In this concert program, both talents have strung together opuses imbued with classical elegance and virtuosic energy, the authors' lives closely linked at various times to the charming atmosphere of Vienna.

The program is framed by two sonatas. At the beginning of the evening, the Early First Violin Sonata in D major by Viennese classical master Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed, permeated by the young talent's enthusiasm for the craftsmanship of his admired older colleagues – Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Meanwhile, at the end of the evening – the Third Violin Sonata in D minor, written almost a century later by romantic giant Johannes Brahms and steeped in deep emotions.

Between the two sonatas, the voice of the violin will sing out the vocal pearls of Gustav Mahler, which will engagingly resonate with the masterpieces of two representatives of the so-called Second Viennese School – the refined and meticulously polished Four Pieces for Violin and Piano Op. 7 by Anton Webern and the sparklingly rhapsodic Phantasy by Arnold Schoenberg.

Program: Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Gustav Mahler, Arnold Schoenberg, Anton Webern.
