On Saturday, October 17, at 15.00, the creative quarter “Zeit” in Līgatne invites you to the collage-performance “Veronika, zilais putns”, which tells about the painter and writer Veronika Janelsiņa (1910-2001), her life in California after the passing of her spouse, writer Anšlavs Eglītis.

Created as a collage of memories, interviews, letters, and documentary evidence, the performance reveals Veronika's time when paintings, manuscripts, and longing for Latvia remained alongside. Living in the sun of California, she continues the conversation with the past, with art, and with people who shaped her life story.

A special place in this story is held by artist Kazimirs Laurs. A friend and guardian angel who enters Veronika's life as a force of quiet presence, helping to maintain a connection with the world and with herself.

It is a performance about memory, loneliness, loyalty, and hope. About a woman who, between the skies of California and the light of Latvia, searched for her blue bird all her life.
