Cēsis music publishing house “RM Rekords” will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the release of a scent cassette

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the historical album “Active only in space“ (Side A, 2001) and “Portal” (Side B, 2003) by Cēsis electronic musician Matīss Millers (Astron, MMx-20003), set in the deep house and deep techno music style, will be released on cassette. Publisher – Cēsis cassette publishing house “RM Rekords”. Both albums will be the 10th anniversary release of the publishing house. Specially for the release, perfumer Arturs Driķis (Ikšķile – Rīga) created a special cosmic scent “Stratosfēra”, which will be applied to each cassette. The release cover photo with the North America Nebula or NGC 7000 was taken by nature photographer Jānis Šatrovskis (Burtnieki). The visual identity of the release was created by artist Sabīne Moore (Rīga). Music consultant Cafe 2 (Pēteris Lauriņš, Rīga). The album “Portal” was mastered by NGC-5128 (Kristaps Lagzdiņš, Cēsis), and the cassette was prepared for release by Raimonds Mežaks (RM Rekords, Cēsis).

The cassette winding celebration is planned for September 19 at the art space “Mala”, Cēsis, Lenču iela 11. Free admission, start at 20:30. In the first part of the event, there will be a lecture by Raimonds Mežaks and a full-length listening of both albums, while in the second part, listening to the remaining cassettes released by the publishing house over the past 10 years is planned.

Since 2017, the cassette publishing house “RM Rekords” has released the first, second and third parts of the Cēsis electronic music compilation (2017, 2021, 2025), a compilation of songs created by DJ Trakais Mārtiņš and the Cēsis radio “Saules iela” team (2019), a compilation of best songs of the Aizkraukle (Stučka) band “Dvēsele” (2018), the album “Visuma Ainavu Gleznotāji” by Cēsis techno musician NGC-5128 (2020), the album “MinDness” by the Ogre band “MinDness” (2022), the 1st Cēsis rock compilation (2023) and the compilation of works “Dziesmas un skices 1991 – 1993” by the Grobiņa rap group “Scalp” (2024). In 2027, it is planned to release an album and song compilation of the Cēsis electronic music collective “Krokodils”.
