Informatīva lekcija par psihotraumu un tās pārvarēšanu “Kas ir psihotrauma un kā ar to sadzīvot?”

On 28 September 2026 from 17.30 to 19.00, Bauskas novada pašvaldība invites anyone interested to a free lecture “Kas ir psihotrauma un kā ar to sadzīvot?”, which will take place at Bauskas Kultūras centrs.

In life we can experience various difficulties, crises and events that leave a significant impact on our emotional well-being. During the lecture there will be an opportunity to better understand what psychological trauma is, how it differs from life's difficulties and a crisis, as well as to learn how it is possible to regain emotional balance and integrate traumatic experience into one's life.

The lecture will discuss the following questions:

life's difficulties, crisis or psychological trauma – how to distinguish them and what really is a traumatic experience;

psychological difficulties that a person may experience after a traumatic event;

why it is not always possible to leave traumatic experience in the past;

how to heal trauma and how to promote the prevention of depression and other mood disorders;

opportunities to integrate traumatic experience and leave it in the past;

the necessary self-care after a psychologically traumatic event;

how to help a loved one who has experienced psychological trauma.

During the lecture participants will be kindly invited to ask questions and discuss issues relevant to them.

Duration of the lecture – 1.5 hours.

Participation in the lecture is free of charge.

The lecture is organized within the framework of Bauskas novada pašvaldība project “Veselības veicināšanas un slimību profilakses pasākumu īstenošana Bauskas novadā” (No. 4.1.2.2/1/24/I/003). The project is implemented with funding from European Union funds and the Latvian state budget.
