DZEJAS SLAMS

On 25 September at 17.30 in the chamber hall of Jēkabpils Tautas nams, we invite you to the Poetry Slam in Jēkabpils – an evening where the main thing is your microphone, your stage and your voice!

If you are at least 13 years old, come, step onto the stage and share your poetry. No previous experience is needed — a free, friendly atmosphere prevails here and there is no "right" way to write.

Rules for participants: you must prepare 3 poems (for 3 rounds), each performance is allowed up to 4 minutes, props may not be used.

Registration: send your first name, last name and age to mara.bitane@edu.jekabpils.lv.

The evening will be hosted by Valters Liberts, readings will inspire by the vice-champion of Latvian poetry slam Normunds Bolužs, and Lauma Kalniņa will take care of the music.

Three finalists will get the opportunity to participate in the Latvian National Poetry Slam Championship in December, in Rīga.
