Dzejas dienu akcija "Bibliotēkas Dzejas bingo"

During Poetry Days, from 7 to 25 September, Smiltene library invites children and young people to participate in the activity "Bibliotēkas Dzejas bingo", which will allow them to get to know poetry in an unusual and interactive way.

Participants of the activity will have the opportunity to listen to six poems recorded by the librarians of Smiltene library. Three poems will be available in the library's Adult Service Department at Dakteru iela 27, but three – in the Children's Service Department at Gaujas iela 1. To listen to the recordings, it will be necessary to scan the QR code placed next to each poem, therefore participation requires a smartphone with QR code scanning capability.

At the library, it will be possible to receive the activity worksheet, but for convenience it can also be downloaded and printed from the Smiltene municipality website here.

While listening to each poem, participants will have to find and mark two words heard in it. The task will also include extra words, so one must listen attentively in order to successfully complete one's "Dzejas bingo".

Additionally, there will be an opportunity to complete a bonus task, which is not mandatory. In it, participants – together with parents or on their own – will be able to try to guess which librarian recorded each poem, recognising the voices and connecting the poems with their recorders.

Completed worksheets must be submitted by 25 September to Smiltene library (Dakteru iela 27 or Gaujas iela 1) in order to qualify for prizes. After the end of the activity, several winners will be drawn from all participants, who will receive surprise little prizes.
