Balets "Džungļu grāmata"
Sunday, 1. November12:00· Latvijas Nacionālā opera un balets, Rīga
Aspazijas bulvāris 3
The performance is about compassion, family, and love. In the jungle, where life flows according to the rules of the animal kingdom, a small human child unexpectedly appears. He is found by a She-Wolf who is well acquainted with human nature. The She-Wolf decides to protect the boy and take him in to raise, because - "who knows, maybe this one will be different?" In the jungle, the little boy grows up. There is no shortage of joy and adventures there, but something drives the youth to the city to the people, and he leaves the jungle in the shadow of the ruler Tiger. Seemingly among people the boy has found his true place, his home, but his heart yearns for nature, animals, and the jungle.
Choreographer Raimonds Martinovs created the characters and events of the ballet "The Jungle Book", inspired by the English author Rudyard Kipling's short story collection of the same name, while its music was composed by Kārlis Lācis.
