Vasaras lielizstāde “Plūsmā”

From July 3 to September 13, the international contemporary art exhibition "In the Flow" is taking place at the Jurmala Museum. The exhibition brings together artists of various generations and countries who represent different art media and forms of expression – painting, graphics, sculpture, glass and textile art, video and installation, and who speak in the language of art about invisible processes - intuition, consciousness, memory, encounters, changes and spiritual experience.

23 artists are participating in the exhibition: Sigita Enika, Ināra Garklāva, Ieva Krūmiņa, Liene Mackus, Zaiga Putrāma, Igors Bernāts, Kaspars Brambergs, Andris Breže, Valdis Celms, Māris Čačka, Miķelis Fišers, Gints Gabrāns, Ritums Ivanovs, Atis Jākobsons, Leonards Laganovskis, Verners Lazdāns, Paulis Liepa, Pēteris Līdaka, Jānis Murovskis, Artis Nīmanis, Reinis Pētersons, as well as internationally known foreign artists Cristina Lucas (Spain) and Maurizio Donzelli (Italy).

"The ideological basis of the exhibition resonates with psychologist Carl Gustav Jung's findings on the collective unconscious and man's individual path of spiritual development. The exhibition also touches upon the issue currently relevant in modern philosophy and psychology regarding mindful presence, mutual connection and the ability to perceive the world beyond the rationally measurable," says exhibition curator Inga Bunkše.

Each of us looks for an opportunity to grow and develop spiritually and each does it differently. In the exhibition "In the Flow", the curator and artists look for ways not to lose oneself in a world transformed by information overload, stress and haste.

The exhibition does not provide ready answers. It invites you to stop, ask questions and give in to the experience. Perhaps it is questions, rather than answers, that help a person move forward and maintain a connection with their inner flow.

A guide has been prepared for the exhibition, with the help of which the viewer will be able to better understand the themes touched upon in the works of art. The exhibition is supplemented by a parallel program, within the framework of which masterclasses for children and youth, as well as workshops and talks for adults will take place.
