Autumn is approaching, which means that traditionally on Wednesdays, active lifestyle enthusiasts will gather at the Jēkabpils Mežaparkā to accumulate laps in the Half-Hour Run, which will take place for its 43rd season this year.

The goal of the competition is to promote physical activity among the population, popularize running and determine the fastest runners in various age groups.

The competition will take place in six rounds – on September 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28 and November 4. Start for the youngest groups (born in 2018 and younger, born in 2016–2017, born in 2012–2015) – at 18.00, and for the older groups – at 18.40.

In each round, participants will run for half an hour, and the result will be evaluated according to the number of laps run (including the last lap in which the athlete managed to enter before the end of the 30 minutes). The overall score includes the four best rounds, and the winners of 1st–3rd places in each age group will receive medals.

Awarding and souvenir prize draw will take place on Tuesday, November 10, at 18.00 at the Jēkabpils Mežaparkā near the forest hut. The absolute best runners of the season – in the men's and women's competition – will receive a 50 euro gift card from the sports goods store "Fans" in Jēkabpils, but every participant who has run all 6 rounds will receive one of the souvenir prizes by draw.

Participation fee – 5 € (regardless of the number of rounds).

The competition is organized by the Jēkabpils Sporta centrs in cooperation with the sports goods store "Fans" in Jēkabpils and the Jēkabpils Sporta skola.
