During the school holidays, nine-year-old Elizabete goes to her family in the rainforests of Venezuela. Now that she has made new friendships in the city, life in the jungle no longer appeals to her. Even less does she want to look after her little brother Leo. When mum and dad unexpectedly go to the city to see a doctor, Elizabete, absorbed in reading a book, does not notice that Leo disappears into the mysterious jungle. To save her brother and the creature of an unseen species, Pūkainītis, Elizabete dares to get to know the secrets of the Venezuelan jungle.
