Filma "Uļa"

The action of Viesturs Kairišs's film "Uļa" takes place in Latvia at the end of the 1960s, its center is Uļa – a girl who grows up in a remote countryside farmstead in an Old Believer family, where her unusual height makes those around her doubt the girl's place in the world. When a class photograph ends up in the hands of basketball coaches, Uļa is taken to Rīga, where her path begins towards the highest level of a professional athlete's career, while also questioning faith in herself and her own identity.
