Dzejas dienas - "Pietura: Dzeja dzied!"

Poetry Month September and the poetry festival are here! Poetry resounds in Latvia, it is chanted by young and old in our region, poetry also enters our small town.

Poetry has long ceased to be something abstract, incomprehensible or boring; rather, it is characterised by timelessness and democracy. It speaks to people in moments of joy and sorrow, and this year the motto of Poetry Days is especially appealing - "Dzeja dzied!"

Therefore, on 16 September from 11:00 to 13:00 in Viesīte, a poetic-musical activity will take place - a ride "Pietura: Dzeja dzied", during which poetry messengers will travel through the city streets to address people, stopping at the secondary school, the city administration, the pharmacy, shops, VSAAC, PII "Zīlīte", to let poetry and songs resound.

At the end of this activity, around 13:00, all interested are warmly invited to the Āzītis sculpture in the city centre for a shared poetry moment!

Come and participate: bring your favourite poem and read it aloud! We will sing songs close to our hearts together!
