“Dzejas dienas 2026” Antas Eņģeles koncerts "Dzeja dzied"

Saturday, 12. September12:00· Viļa Plūdoņa muzejs, Ceraukstes pagasts

On September 12, 2026, at 12.00 at the Vilis Plūdonis Museum, in the poet's birthplace „Lejenieki”, the annual „Poetry Days” event will take place. This tradition started several decades ago, and over the years, well-known Latvian writers, musicians, and actors have visited „Lejenieki” with exciting poetry performances.

This year „Poetry Days 2026” will take place under the motto „Poetry Sings”, inviting to discover the interaction of poetry and music.

The concert will feature a guest appearance by Latvian folk music legend, singer Anta Eņģele, whose performance will feature songs with the words of Latvian poets.

Poetry Days visitors are also invited to visit the poet's grave at the Plūdonis Cemetery and explore the museum's exhibition.

The surroundings of „Lejenieki” once inspired the poet himself for creation, and even today it invites visitors to encounter the inspiration of poetry in nature – in the bends of Mēmele and the stream ravine, in the „Lejenieki” garden, forest, and meadow.

Admission fee – 5 EUR.

During the events, visitors may be photographed and/or filmed. Photographs and video materials may be published.
