The State Blood Donor Centre will travel to donors in Talsi every month. Donor days in Talsi have already become a long-standing tradition, and last year the State Blood Donor Centre visited our city every month. It is an opportunity to increase the number of donors, thereby obtaining the blood so necessary for the lives of fellow human beings.

This year too, the State Blood Donor Centre will come to Talsi once a month.

By donating blood, a person helps not only others but also themselves. It is an opportunity to stimulate the blood-forming system in the body, renewing the blood composition, to get sick less often with acute and chronic diseases, to find out pulse, blood pressure and haemoglobin level, and to receive test results, after requesting them in advance from the registrar.

Please note:

a full 9 weeks must pass between blood donations for men and a full 13 weeks for women;

in a 12-month period, women may donate blood 4 times;

in a 12-month period, men may donate blood up to 6 times (moreover, after the 6th time, men must observe a 3-month break).
