Film plot: During the school break, nine-year-old Elizabete goes to visit her family in the rainforests of Venezuela. Now that she has formed new friendships in the city, life in the jungle no longer appeals to her. Even less does she want to look after her little brother Leo. When mom and dad unexpectedly go to the city to see a doctor, Elizabete, engrossed in reading a book, fails to notice that Leo disappears into the mysterious jungle. To save her brother and an unseen species creature Pūkainīte, Elizabete dares to explore the secrets of the Venezuelan jungle.
